Meet the Coaches
Two disciplines. Two coaches who know what they're teaching. Bran Richards leads BJJ. Dan Yosun Peawkumdee leads Muay Thai. Both coach adults and kids.
Bran Richards
BJJ Coach & Gym Owner — C4 Nambucca
Black Belt in BJJBran has been training Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu for over 15 years, earning his black belt under Chris Helback of C4 Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and MMA in Coffs Harbour. He founded C4 Nambucca to bring quality BJJ to the Nambucca Valley. A place that deserved it.
His coaching approach centres on fundamentals and understanding the why behind every technique. Bran's goal isn't simply to teach moves. It's to develop grapplers who think on the mat and adapt in live rolling. He coaches kids and adults BJJ at C4 Nambucca, and brings the same care and attention to both.
If you're walking in for the first time, Bran's approach is straightforward: no pressure, no ego, just good training. You'll be paired with people who are here to help you improve, not to make you feel like an outsider.

Dan Yosun Peawkumdee
Muay Thai Coach — C4 Nambucca
Muay Thai · Thai-AustralianDan grew up in Nambucca Heads. He's Thai-Australian, and Muay Thai is part of where he comes from, not just something he picked up along the way.
He teaches the traditional art properly: correct technique, real mechanics, the kind of Muay Thai that looks good because it performs well. His approach is conceptual rather than purely repetitive. He breaks down the why behind each movement, drawing on ecological teaching methods to build genuine fight IQ, not just pattern recognition.
Classes are technically serious and genuinely welcoming. Dan adapts to who's in front of him. Kids, beginners, and experienced practitioners all train together, and everyone gets something real out of it. Stance, footwork, combinations, pad work: everything builds from the ground up. No ego, no pressure to be somewhere you're not yet.
If it's your first time: nerves are normal. Leave them at the door with the ego, and Dan will take care of the rest.
